Be Where Your Feet Are

Updated: Oct 6

Life is goofy, and you never know what's coming around the corner. One day it’s smooth sailing, the next you’re caught in a downpour with no umbrella and soggy socks. But there's no use fretting about it before the unknown even happens. As a good friend says, there’s no use borrowing trouble.

So if you're in a moment that feels good, even just a little, immerse yourself in it. For the sake of all that is holy, don’t hold back. Live it fully. Breathe it in deep. Let your senses light up. Laugh too loud. Dance badly. Taste everything. Feel the sun on your skin or the bass in your chest. Be there. Really there.

Because the best thing you can do for yourself is soak up those glimmers, the little joys, the flashes of beauty, the weird surprises that make life feel rich. Collect them. Stockpile them. They'll help carry you through the lulls.

And if you work it right, you can pack a little of that glimmer joy in your pocket for the hard days. Let it be a reminder that light always returns, and even in the doldrums, you know what joy feels like, and how to find your way back to it.
