Stay True to You

Kindness can be misunderstood. I’ve experienced that firsthand. I try to meet people with warmth and sincerity, sometimes awkward, often goofy, but always genuine. I want people to do well. That’s it. No agenda.
Recently, I had what I thought was a great conversation with someone new. We exchanged numbers. I followed up. Later, I learned she thought I was trying to date her, a total misread. I was floored. But it reminded me of something important: what someone else thinks of me is none of my business.
Not everyone will get you. Some will question your motives. Others might twist your actions. But that doesn’t mean you stop showing up as you are. I won’t dull my light or shrink who I am to make others more comfortable.
So if you’re out there trying your best, a little clumsy, but always sincere, keep going. Don’t let misjudgment harden your heart. Keep being kind. Keep being real. Keep making space for others, even if they don’t take it.
Stay true to you. That’s more than enough.
